Did You Know

The average Australian office worker disposes of around 10,000 A4 sheets of paper per year. In total, Australian offices consume around 400,000 tonnes of paper each year. Given that it requires 17 large trees to produce one tonne of paper from virgin pulp, the need for offices to start taking a proactive approach to paper conservation has never been more urgent.
Developed through a partnership between Fuji Xerox Australia and The University of New South Wales, this paper audit tool is designed to help organisations identify their current patterns of paper use – what is used, how much is used, how it is used and what happens after it has been used. By measuring the input, output and throughput of paper in the office the audit tool can help organisations develop strategies for minimising paper usage and improving paper conservation while providing a baseline against which progress can be monitored.
